In response to COVID-19, the 50th-anniversary festival is postponed until further notice.

Wilmington Earth Day Festival: TBD

April 22nd, 2020 is the 50th-anniversary of Earth Day! Join us on_____________ for the annual Earth Day Festival. The event will be at Hugh MacRae Park from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This year’s theme is Climate Action. This is the 2020 theme of the Earth Day Network and was selected to bring attention and awareness to our ever-changing climate.

Earth Day is a time to celebrate our beautiful planet by bringing together people from all walks of life across our community to gather in good spirits and harmony, meet people from local environmentally-oriented organizations and business, and learn how to participate in the stewardship of our community. It is a fun day to be outside, talk to new friends, and learn about all the great things that are happening in the Cape Fear Region.

Food (Bill's Front Porch Brew Food, Clean Juice (Mayfaire), and Poblanos Tacos and More), beer (special thanks to our wonderful sponsors Bill's Brewing Company and Waterline Brewing Company), wine and beverages will be available for purchase. We are working hard to make this year’s event a ZERO-WASTE event. New Hanover County Environmental Management and Wilmington Compost Company will collect food scraps from the event (plus any the public wants to bring from home) to compost.

There will be exciting activities for any member of the family, including the children's Nature Brigade Parade by the Rapping Red Oak from Broccoli Brothers Circus, live music (Christian Brinkley, Cosmic Groove Lizards, and The Pinkerton Raid), yoga on the lawn, children's games and activities, visiting with over 70 different exhibitors and vendors, and just basking in the sunshine and soaking in all the warmth and air Mama Earth provides. Enter to win a brand new Hurricane Kayaks or any of the other prizes in our raffle. Raffle prizes include local artwork, yoga sessions, restaurant gift certificates and many more. There will be an ATM machine on site. (Beer purchases are cash ONLY.)

The festival would not be possible without the support of our sponsors:
