Earth Day is every day! Celebrate with us April, 2026!
We’ve been celebrating our beautiful planet since 1990, when local naturalist Andy Wood brought together passionate community members who believe collaboration is key to making a real environmental impact in the Cape Fear region. Each year, we host a vibrant Earth Day festival that brings together residents, local government and non-profit organizations, and eco-conscious businesses for a day of fun, learning, and connection.
Welcome to the Wilmington Earth Day Alliance!
At our festival, you’ll find everything from engaging workshops to interactive displays, all focused on promoting sustainability and environmental awareness. It’s a fantastic opportunity to discover how local groups are working to protect our natural habitat while enjoying a day filled with excitement and inspiration. Our dedicated team of volunteers—representing diverse backgrounds, from local government employees to sustainably-minded citizens—works tirelessly to make this event happen. So, come join us in honoring our planet and connecting with your community! We can't wait to see you at this year’s celebration!
This is a movement of billions. Whether you’re most comfortable contributing time to help achieve our volunteer goals, money to help us fund future Earth Day festivals, or energy to share your eco-friendly measures with our community, we want to hear from you!
